Mask Monday #1

With my new collection of masks that I subscribed to from Mask Maven and my little Ulta Haul from this weekend and last weekend, I decided it would be best to treat existing acne on my face first.  My face has been flaring up due to stress from work, and I tend to break out like crazy just before that time of month where a girl just wants to crawl into bed and stay there while nibbling on a chocolate bar. Ladies & gentlemen, that is the perfect formula for unwanted acne in my life!

The first mask I tried for the week was the Leaders AC-Dressing Skin Clinic Mask. I received this from my Mask Maven subscription.  All I can say is…WHERE HAS THIS MASK BEEN ALL MY LIFE?!

First off, let’s start with the claims of this mask:

  • soothes and reduces inflammation and irritation
  • fights acne
  • reduce pore appearance
  • provides relief for irritated, stressed, and sensitive skin due to breakouts
  • Helps improve skin tone by controlling oil, smoothing skin’s surface, and moisturizing rough skin.

I was very pleased with how my face felt after one use.  I used this mask right before I went to bed. The sheet mask was translucent, very moist, and was the perfect size for my face and there was no scent.  I used the excess serum  for under my chin/jaw area that the mask did not reach. I left it on for the recommended max time which was 20 minutes. My face felt hydrated the next morning.  As mentioned, I have existing breakouts on the right side of my face (around my right chin/jaw area). All irritation and inflammation had been drastically reduce.  I did not see any signs of redness around my breakouts. I was so impressed, I went and bought a pack of 10 on Amazon!

Ladykin Blueberry Wash-Off Mask

  • Fights acne & signs of aging

I received this wash off mask from my Mask Maven Subscription. I was excited to read that it had blueberry in it.  Blueberries are excellent for skin care.  They are full of antioxidants and neutralize free radicals that damage skin cells which can lead to premature aging.

I had difficulty finding information on this product online so I had to pretty much go with what my little mask maven brochure said, what the packaging said, and what other [few] reviews said.

Upon opening the package, I was surprised to find that the product was white and creamy.  I was expecting it to be blue lol The mask had a subtle sweet, yogurty smell.  Instead of using my fingers to apply the mask to my face, I used a clean foundation brush.  I evenly coated my face and let it sit for the recommended 15 minutes. The mask stayed creamy, it did not dry. I did not feel or see any instant results. I was bummed my skin did not feel different. My skin did not feel hydrated in the morning the way it usually does whenever I use a sheet mask the night before.  In fact, it felt dry and a bit itchy.

I have extra product left for 1 or 2 more uses, but I’m not very motivated to continue using it.

Esfolio Honey Essence Mask Sheet

The purpose of this mask is to:

  • work against skin build up
  • collagen; boosts skin firmness
  • revive skin

I received this mask from my February Mask Maven Subscription. Honey is not just a sweet treat. It is another fantastic ingredient to have in your skin care products! I could go on and on about honey, but lets keep this short and sweet. It’s a natural antibacterial that will help to treat and prevent acne.  It is another super food that is rich with antioxidants so this is a great anti-aging product. Honey is also extremely moisturizing so it’ll help with your complexion and aids in keeping you looking youthful.

First off, can we talk about how adorable this packaging is? Yellow is my favorite color and the bees are just too cute! The mask was soaked in A LOT of essence which is always a plus for me.  The scent reminded me of Burts Bees products.  I found it to be very hydrating and cooling and my face stayed hydrated through the night.

My face has definitely been pampered the last few weeks and I’m lovin’ it! I am noticing that any roughness around my face has been smoothing out.  My face is no longer suffering from dryness and I think scars/hyperpigmentation are starting to fade.  Baby G is certainly enjoying watching me with masks on. I’ll get a few giggles out of her 🙂

XO,
Tracy

    1. Sweet! It has definitely been a life changer. I’ve been fighting acne since my teenage years and to find relief from a single sheet mask has been exciting. Let me know how it works for you!
